Well, you are a "strange, eclectic and interesting shops in New York, you can bet they will not be in the vicinity of Midtown, which quickly became a Disney Spirit S-Mall.
For this reason, some see these shops, I recommend you head to some of the neighborhoods Hipper New York City and just walk, like SoHo or the East Village and Greenwich Village.
